Is raw feeding really that 'tricky'?
One of the biggest concerns we hear when talking to those considering a raw food diet for their pets is that it’s too ‘tricky’, ‘confusing’ or ‘difficult to switch’. Ok – we admit it – pouring a cup of kibble into a bowl is quick and requires little consideration. If this is what you’re used to when it comes to feeding your pet, then you will find that raw feeding requires a just a little more energy…
However…
We want to banish all the misconceptions that pet owners have around raw feeding. The ‘mess’, the ‘bacteria’, the rigmarole of defrosting and serving – it’s time to ditch whatever you’ve heard and start afresh on your journey to raw. Afterall, feeding Nutriment is as simple as defrost, portion, and serve!
How do I balance a raw dog food diet?
Dogs require a nutritionally complete and balanced diet in order to obtain all the essential protein and nutrients that they need to truly thrive. This means a combination of high-quality protein, offal (10%), bone (10%), superfoods (and low-sugar fruit/vegetables), and omegas 3 and 6. Each of these elements combined is responsible for the ideal support of overall mental and physical health. Just as importantly, a healthy, complete and balanced diet excludes biologically inappropriate ingredients such as grains, rice, artificial additives or other fillers, which can adversely affect pet health.
Remember – a freshly prepared claim on your pet’s kibble food packaging doesn’t necessarily mean that the food if full of truly fresh wholefood ingredients.
