Nutriments 10th Birthday Timeline
Happy birthday to us!
Nutriment started back in June 2013 as the brainchild of entrepreneur Suzanne Brock, who wanted to establish a premium-yet-accessible raw pet food brand that stood strong on the grounds of quality, nutrition and ethics.
Fast-forward 10 years, and Nutriment is a leader in its field, having innovated 98 raw food products, stocked in over 700 pet stores, and operating with a 52-strong team of animal enthusiasts.
And it feels like it’s only the beginning!
So how did we get here? What’s been the key to Nutriment’s popularity and success? Well other than our fantastic, loyal customers (both the two-legged and four-legged variety!), we believe that Nutriment has had such as incredible first decade due to our founding principles.
Nutriment is the raw pet food brand that perfectly balances quality, innovation, technology, the environment and the community, ensuring all aspects of input and output carry the brand’s values and principles throughout its operations.

Innovation
Nutriment is a classic example of a disruptive innovator. That is, we’ve strived to make high-quality raw pet food accessible to a wider range of consumers (owners and pets!). Traditionally, raw food was limited to pet owners due to cost, availability and logistics. With the launch of Nutriment back in 2013, nutritious, premium raw food became an available option to a much wider segment of the pet owner community.
Our portfolio has grown considerably over the years, with carefully formulated ranges and recipes being developed to serve the needs and wants of consumers. This has included novel protein sources to support allergy treatment and prevention (2013-2014), the ‘Laverstoke Park Farm’ range of organic raw foods (2016), the ‘Support’ range of recipes designed to support common ailments in pets (2019), and our innovative ‘Leo & Wolf’ brand (2020), which provides alternative eating experiences for absolute food enjoyment. As a result of Nutriment’s innovation, we have received many awards over the years. From Surrey Young Business of the Year and Best Selected Exhibitor at Crufts in 2014, to Suzanne’s Natwest Everywoman Artemis Award in 2015, and New Product Showcase for our innovative ‘Support’ range at PATS Sandown in 2019, we’ve continued to demonstrate why we’re the trusted raw pet food partner for the pet owner community.
Finally, a huge milestone in Nutriment’s history and one which has supported us to further innovate and develop, was us joining the Voff Premium Pet Food group in 2017. Voff is an independent leader within natural premium pet food, focussing on raw (BARF). Voff gathers entrepreneurs that are passionate about natural pet food to join forces, and today Voff consists of ten strong brands that are sold across Europe.
The community
In 2014, the conscientious team at Nutriment established the ever-popular Christmas Charity Scheme, which helps to nutritionally support rescue animals in its yearly drive of donations. To date, the scheme has generated 43,238 meal donations to a selection of charities, including Pupcakes Rescue, Rescue DBARCS, Merlin Animal Rescue, Rottweilers in Need, Westie Rescue UK, Flori’s Friends, and Wolf Dog Rescues. That’s a lot of happy tummies!
In 2015, Nutriment committed to sponsoring Service Dogs UK – a PTSD assistance dog charity for both the armed forces and emergency services. Part of this sponsorship involves providing food for dogs in training, in order to ensure that they are nutritionally satisfied to provide the utmost care and service to those in need.
In 2017, Nutriment was very proud to sponsor Pupaid and Lucy’s Law, which led to the banning of puppy sales by pet shops, online dealers and third-party sellers in 2020. This was a crucial and personal triumph for everyone involved, to help put an end to the abhorrent practices of puppy farming.
In 2022, Pete Lewin Newfoundlands won The Kennel Club Hero Dog Award at Crufts. Nutriment has long sponsored Pete and his work, which involves providing emotional support to people who may benefit from open water swimming and interacting with Newfoundlands, from front-line emergency services staff to military veterans and those suffering with mental health.
The environment
With ethics being at the heart of the Nutriment business, we constantly strive to operate in a way that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. This has evolved tremendously since our early days, and as is the case with all modern businesses, is under constant review.
We’ve taken great care to ensure that the resources we use are efficient, that waste we produce is minimal and effectively dealt with, and that our operations are streamlined and low impact. The establishment of our Laverstoke Park Farm Organic Range in 2016 went above and beyond to strengthen our commitment to ethical and sustainable farming, we upgraded our extensive freezer facilities in 2021, and we started eco deliveries with DPD in 2023, to highlight just a few of our sustainability milestones.

Technology
In order to continue to provide outstanding service to our dedicated customers and make premium raw pet feeding as accessible as possible to pet owners nationwide, we have made substantial investments in our technology over the years. Our website was completely revamped and relaunched in 2022, in order to provide a seamless learning, browsing and shopping experience for customers both in the UK and across Europe. Our chat feature (which was integrated onto the site in 2020), has further enabled customers to find out nutritional and operational information in real time from our in-house experts.
This is in addition to the high-tech equipment we have installed in our warehouses to ensure the appropriate handling and dispatch of our frozen products.
As a team, it feels like our feet have barely touched the ground during our first 10 years, and reading through our busy history, we can understand why! But at the end of the day, there’s one thing that’s made all the hard work and commitment absolutely worth every second – the thousands of happy and healthy pets that are part of the Nutriment pack.
